Interior Design Trends

Could your home use a little updating? Would you like to incorporate a few things for a new look? Interior Design trends don’t have to mean “trendy”. Knowing what’s current and fresh can simply open your eyes to new ideas for your space.

This past October, I was selected as a Style Spotter by Highpoint Furniture Market to curate my favorite products and top trends. I even made a video to take you behind the scenes in Bernhardt’s showroom! Thank you Brandon & Danielle, you did an amazing job!

Bernhardt’s showroom won the Best of Market Award, and I’m sure you can see why. Their forward thinking is evident in every vignette presented.  ”What’s exciting to me,” says Roger Turnbow, vice president of upholstery merchandising, “is our ability to see what’s happening in the international fashion world, and translate that into furniture…”

Lacquer turned up everywhere. Add a high gloss accent for instant glamour.

Unexpected finishes give character to a space. Instead of a woodgrain side table, the predictable choice, consider one wrapped in leather.

A two-toned secretary adds interest by combing old & new, traditional & contemporary. If you need extra space to pay bills or collect mail, this is a perfect piece that can easily be closed to conceal the mess!

There has been more attention to detail on chair backs and sofas because of the recent popularity of open floor plans. (Guys, how could you ever want a recliner after seeing these?)

Brass. Yep, I said it. It’s making a furious come back. Period. (Don’t be afraid to mix metals! You don’t have to throw out all your stainless and silver…………yet)

A huge thanks to Stephanie Lowder for allowing me access to this amazing tour, Roger Turnbow & Ron Fiore for creating this lovely showroom, and to Cheminne for allowing me this opportunity to share my passion with the world.
