Emerson et Cie

I was meeting with a furniture rep last week and almost turned down the opportunity to view one of his product lines, Emerson et Cie. In the past, they were known for a very traditional look, but he informed me they were beginning to incorporate transitional pieces. The first two pieces are from April’s market introductions, and I can definitely see myself incorporating anything with this brass hardware in my projects!

Did you notice the glamorous detail on their tops? Eglomise, a process in which the back side of glass is gilded with gold or metal leaf, is very prevalant right now in furniture design.

Who couldn’t use a little swank in their life? I love these modern wing back chairs, but if I chose the white fabric, my dogs and husband would be banned for life!

And speaking of swank, Tobi Fairley and Swank Lighting have teamed up for a fabulous giveaway. I really didn’t want to mention it because it would reduce my chances of winning, but I guess I’m feeling generous. If you love these Murano glass lamps as much as I do, click here for details…I hope I win!

Stacy, one of the great benefits to me of the give away at Tobi Fairley’s web site is that I get to read all the great comments and discover some new talent for my own inspiration. Having looked through your portfolio I would have to agree. Your work is definitely Swank!
    Thanks for the mention.
