I arrived in New York a day early to squeeze in a little shopping and was able to get a lot of sketchbook inspiration too. It’s sort of a Bloomingdales meets Sephora (without the clothing and shoes), Henri Bendel prides themselves as a girls’ playground. The interior design and architectural details were just as gorgeous as the products. They carry handbags, jewelry, cosmetics, perfume & more.

My New York trip was definitely not short of design inspiration. I love seeing a “behind the scenes” look at what inspires designers. I will show you a lot of inspiration for how companies go from concept to completion, from Kravet’s mood boards to Barbara Barry’s line of tea. But for now, here are a few details that inspire me.
Stripes are so classic, but they are also very ‘in‘ right now. This piece of furniture wrapped in leather would make a girl very happy!
